We are over half-way through the pre-examination period of the planning process for Sizewell C. The Sizewell C Information Office in Leiston remains open for residents and organisations to read the documents in hard copy. The public has until 30 September 2020 to register an interest and send relevant representations to the Planning Inspectorate on the proposals:https://infrastructure.planninginspectorate.gov.uk
Young Sizewell C programme
Plans for Sizewell C still have to be approved but Tom McGarry, Head of Stakeholder Engagement, Sizewell C is keen to show young people what a career in Nuclear development could look like so the Sizewell C team has launched ‘Young Sizewell C’
Young people in the county aged 16-21 will be able to register their interest in potential jobs and be kept up to date about the plans. They will be the first to hear about upcoming events and we will share useful tips and advice on putting together CVs and other necessary skills. Over time they will be offered access to skills taster days, the chance to visit the operational power station at Sizewell B and be afforded opportunities to meet the companies involved in building Sizewell C.
If a Development Consent Order is granted and Sizewell C can be built, the hope is this initiative will give young people a head start in accessing the jobs which will be created.
