To assist our residents to view the current planning applications made in the Parish, we upload links which take you straight to the Public Access pages of the East Suffolk Council planning portal. Simply click on the words 'Current Planning Applications' in the menu to the left hand side, then select the relevant application. To view all the responses made by the Parish Council and submitted to East Suffolk Council, please click on the links in the Archived Planning Applications.
It is East Suffolk Council which makes the decisions on planning applications, not the Parish Council.
Submitting comments on an application
Once you have registered on East Suffolk Council's Public Access planning portal, you will be able to submit comments on current planning applications.
Martlesham Parish Council is routinely notified by East Suffolk Council that a planning application has been made within the Parish. However, we use the ESC Public Access planning portal to access the information, so we see the same information made available to any member of the public. Our responses to applications made, are published on the Public Access portal as a document for public viewing.
When writing our responses, we must take into account national planning law and local policies (including the Local Plan and Neighbourhood Plan). Therefore, the Parish Council may not always be in a position to support requests to object or support an application made.
If you have any concerns about an application, we strongly suggest you send your own comments direct to ESC. You are welcome to copy to the Parish Council any comments you have sent to ESC (no later than a week before the closing date).
