To assist our residents to view the current planning applications for Martlesham Parish, we upload links which take you straight to the Public Access pages of the East Suffolk Council planning portal, known as 'Public Access' . Simply click on the words 'Latest Planning Applications' in the menu to the left hand side, then select the relevant application. Please then click on 'Documents and Comments' to view all the documents filed and any responses filed by statutory consultees and neighbours .
Anyone may comment on a planning application but please be aware you cannot do this without disclosing your name and address. All responses are public.
Planning applications can only be viewed online as we no longer receive hard copies from ESC. A link to applications is provided for your ease of reference.
To view Martlesham Council responses to previous planning applications, please click on the links in the Archived Applications.
It is East Suffolk Council which makes the decisions on planning applications, not the Parish Council.
Submitting comments on an application
Once you have registered on East Suffolk Council's Public Access planning portal, you will be able to submit comments on current planning applications. As far as possible please always support your statements with reference to planning considerations.
Martlesham Council is routinely notified by East Suffolk Council that a planning application has been made within the Parish. However, we use the ESC Public Access planning portal to access the information, so we see the same information made available to any member of the public. Our responses to applications made, are published on the Public Access portal as a document for public viewing.
When writing our responses, we must take into account national planning law and local policies (including the Local Plan and Neighbourhood Plan). Therefore, Martlesham Council may not always be in a position to support requests to object or support an application made.
If you have any concerns about an application, we strongly suggest you send your own comments direct to ESC. You are welcome to copy to us here at Martlesham Council, any comments you have sent to ESC (no later than a week before the closing date).
